hey all, its that time again, tire time. I am looking for some good tires, but not low profile ones, like at least 305 or 315/45/18 on the back. i have 35 (aspect ratio) on there now, and i want to try something taller. I have no lowering on the rear. Any ideas on brand or place to get them online?
thanks

hmm i think something like the stock aspect ratio maybe not sure. how about any good ideas on springs etc? looking for a little lower in the front. Just something different than the 4x4 look. its killing me finally lol.

ummm conflicting requests here.....

Stock doesn't have 18" rims, so if you go for the same side wall height as stock with the 18"'s your tyres will cetainly be 4x4 truck size. If you like the old school look of a fat sidewall then you will need to drop to 15" or 16" ideally. 18"'s are just too darn big unless you want the pasted on low profile look.

In days past something like a 235/60R15 would have been used on a 7 or 8 J rim, but 60% of a 235mm tyre will be a lot less than 60% of a 305.

60% of 235 = 141mm convert to inches / 25.4 = 5.55 inches of sidewall.

So sidewall at the top and bottom of the wheel plus the 15" rim = (5.55 x 2) + 15 = 26.1 inch overall diameter.

If you had a 305 width tyre and wanted the same sidewall size as above the closest would be 305/45R18 giving 137.25mm sidewall height, but the overall diameter would be much bigger

137.25 / 25.4 = 5.4"

(5.4 x 2) + 18 = 28.8" overall diameter, basically a much larger wheel.

I think if you get some springs and stick with tires close to the stock diameter you will get the look your after. I just installed some Steeda Sport springs last weekend and the front dropped perfect, but still hopeing for another 1/2" drop in the rear. Plus you will probably get a better ride and handling.

thanks all, ill check out those steedas, this 4x4 look has just really started to get on my nerves finally lol. Yeah, i think i am going to go with something about the stock height (40 or 45 i think) with some springs. Anyone know of and good springs that will drop the front of the car more than the rear? maybe drag springs?
