well, this is my second set of tires that i have noticed this with... the front tires have their insite corners being cut into. it seems that when i turn the wheel all the way it it subbing on the housing just above the control arm and its starting to shred the tires. thankfully i caught it before my front right blew out (right side looks worse the left), but i want to fix this for the future. will wheel spacers take care of this? 3/4" be ok? or am i screwed? i have 255/40-17 on the stock rims right now, and the new set will be the same size... though i will be getting 03 cobra wheels in the next 2 months or so, and am kinda curious if this will make my current condition worse or fix it or be the same? thoughts?

had it aligned a while back, made no difference... cant tell from more of a wear since i lowered... so i dont think it has to do with toe/camber, but i'm going to get it redone when my new tires get in.

Hmmm... I know there people here running 275/40's front. I dont like the idea of rack limiters. Mainly because Im getting into Auto-X and open track stuff. Ive done some hard braking going downhill then doing a hairpin turn and getting tire to rub. I had to lift off the gas to make the turn. I would like to be able to use all my steering capability.

i jacked the car up last night and looked at it... its not the lining... considering its not there :P its the metal area on the "frame" that is abive the control arm. its an area of the sheet metal that is almost folded incase it does rub. i can see if i can take a picture if you need more clarification on that.
