Tires too small... continued (pics)

I got h&r ss bedause I new I wanted at least 1 3/4 drop. I have read alot about the other ford springs but I just don't like the idea of people getting more drop than advertised. if you have tight tolerances that does not happen. I like the fact that my car is level now. same fender gap on all corners. stock it vaired. I have a feeling the other ford springs may be that way I would ask someone to measure for you that has them. I can tell you from a looks standpoint there in not such thing as to much drop. I was torn as well I just new if I saved money and did not get the drop I wanted I would kick myself.

bottom line ford spings are the cheapest but I think there are better springs out there but if you can't afford them you can't afford them

Thanks! and a question

Thanks for all the opinions and advice. I decided to go with the Steeda sport springs and most likely the Mach 1 shocks and struts. Just one last question... will the Mach 1 (Tokico) shocks and struts really make that big of a difference compared with the stock ones in there now?

:nice:

sweet lookin car, it will look great when you get it lowered. ugh, mine is still in 4x4 mode right now too.

Thanks! You have a good looking car too. Love the wheels.. oh, and I hear  they'll look even better when dropped.

you should really consider installing yourself. at least the rears. there is 6bolts total. floor jack, four jackstands, wrenches. The fronts I though were easy as well but there was more disassembly required. I think a blind monkey could do rear springs in less than 1 hour.

Yeah, dude ... you seriously got the name of the thread so wrong. I am dying here :rlaugh:
The reason it is so funny is that your tires are H - U - G - E.

Yes, I agree with everyone else that lowering your car will transform it into a visual moster with your gargantuan wheels. Since you will likely be lowering your car soon, let me just provide some input on lowering. If this is old news to you, I apologize. Generally a drop of greater than 1.5" will require cc plates. It is a good idea to change out the following when lowering (all real cheap and easy to do): spring isolators, lower pinion snubber (a lot of springs come with this item), and some poly offset steering rack bushings. Also, it is VERY advisable to do shocks/ struts at the same time (I didn't thinking I could save a few bucks staying stock and REALLY regretted it). Also, when considering springs it is NOT all about "the look", so choose a spring that also matches how you want the car to RIDE. Generally, the lower you go, the firmer the ride, and progressive-rate springs provide better ride quality, while fixed-rate is better for racing applications.

BTW, you wheels look AMAZING :nice:

I would love to try if I had the time. I really used to enjoy working on my cars, but I don't have 4 hours to spare. I compete in model aerobatics on the weekend and work 50 hrs week. Unfortunately I can't afford to spend the time and would have to rent the equipment to do it - just isn't worth it now.

it took me about a half an hour for both sides up front and an hour in the back...i couldnt get my UCA hole lined up ...it was a pain in the ass...i dont even know why i took the bolt out...lol i didnt have to remove it for the other side. but yea you should do it yourself, its cake...
