I just purchased a GT 2001 with the stock tires (yes, the car has only 12 000 miles). It's pretty hard to launch well; it spins like crazy. I'll most probably change them soon. I was wondering what were your opinions on the "launches for the buck"? What tires do you have and what kind of 60's do you get from them?
I drive about 5 000 or 6 000 miles a year and I want something that'll allow me to outlaunch most cars with 4.10's (even on the street) without having to change them after 3000 miles. I had the intention of buying 555r's at the rear and 555's at the front...
I know that the subject has been covered more than once, but I didn't find any topic allowing me to get a good idea of the "launches for the buck". Practically all GT's that I've seen at the track couldn't launch the s**** out of it and were getting beating by much slower cars. I consider myself as being a pretty good driver, I just need the ideal tires for my use.
