Depends on if you burn out or not. Nitto 555's are the DR of choice in most posts. I have a set on the rear and they are very good. I'd say you can get 20k miles if you avoid smoking em for the most part. Others may disagree, but it all goes with how you drive them.

what size tires do you have right now and how old are they? i personally wouldnt run drag radials on a daily driver, id just go to a wider tire, IE: if you have 225's now, go to 245's.
on my 97 cobra, i had stock 245's and could blow them off any time i wanted to. then i got new wheels and tires and went to a 275 rear and it actually look a little effort to get them to spin up

275 nitto nt555s on tha back here and it takes a bit to get them to spin... cant go wrong with nitto

so WHY do you not recommend a DR on daily driver????? i run Nitto DR's on my car which i driver everyday and they are over 1 yr old with decent tread and they do excellent in rain also. if your gonna doing smokey burn outs at other than just the track than NO a drag radial may not be for you then, but if you drive them normally youll be fine.QUICK91LX said:

depends on the brand of tires and how you drive, but I read one person saying they got around 10,000 miles on their Nitto Drag Radials. I think BFG DR's wear out a little faster due to their softer compound (more traction at the track). I do not have drag radials, so I cannot say for sure - Just want to say that before someone comes in here and tells me i'm stupid or something.Lynx331 said:

y ai have heard the nittos last a little longer. I would expect 18-20,000 mile sout of a set with the occasional burnout involved. NOT FOR THE RAIN

I got DR's and would never go back, unless I wanted to spinn all over the place. I'll never forget my first night out with Nitto's, I nearly crapped myself because I nailed it in first gear it hooked, I had never been able to use first gear since I bought the car. It didn't make as much difference at the track as the street but still, wow.
There are several brands of DR's out there. Nitto's will last the longest, about the same as regular radials that are being spun all the time, but are definatly a step way over in traction. BFG DR's will be alot stickier, but will wear out real fast. My buddy had them on his car and got a whopping 3500 miles out of them, they only come with 6/32nds rubber. He had to patch them about 4 times in those 3500 miles because they are so sticky they pick up everything loose they run over and they are so soft rocks and stuff dug in and made them leak. There are MT DR's now, but I don't know anything about them.
As far as rain goes, they stick fine off the line real good when wet, but hydroplain real easy.
