Got a fox body with an original Tremec TKO (3650), ford racing driveshaft, and a factory yoke from a newer model mustang (T45).

I have the driveshaft off now and I noticed the yoke is twisted (I have a little over 500hp). I am trying to find a Chromoly / hardened yoke + U joint for this but one does not seem to exist.

What is strange is the 31 spline ford racing yoke fits the T45, C6, and the 3550, but the strange engineering yoke only fits the T45 and C6. I know this because I bought it thinking it was exactly the same as the ford one but it didn't fit. Apparently the splines are cut differently, and the ford one gives just enough room to fit all of the above.

Think this one will be stronger than the OEM Ford one and will handle 500hp?

Here is the strange eng one. As you can see, all specs are the same, but it doesn't fit  I even got the U joint conversion to go from 1330 to 1350... I thought I was all set.

called strange - they said their yoke fits the c6 and t45, but not the tremec transmissions due to the slight difference in the spline shape.

called ford racing - they said the ford racing yoke isn't much stronger than the oem ford one, so it will probably twist too.

called summit and jegs - they only have a billet yoke that will fit the 3550 (28 spline) tremec or T5.

the 31 spline output of the transmission is the same for so many transmissions, including the new tko500 and 600. I dont understand why I am having trouble finding a stronger slip yoke!!

Everyone online says the TKO transmissions use the same yoke as the C6, T45, etc.. but they are different!!!

OK Ill check. I already checked with DTS and a few other places. Dynotech is within walking distance from my house. The only good thing about living in Detroit is all these places for parts / services are all within a 1/2 hour from me.

Since I have a TKO with a factory length driveshaft and aftermarket tubular UCAs, the slip yoke is almost all the way inserted into the trans. Its looking like I will have to get the driveshaft cut. It would seem like the further in the better, but if its supposed to be 3" from the U joint, I will make sure that's what it is. Thanks.
