TKX Transmission Shifting Problem

Here's the problem if you can answer "YES" to this question...

When shifting between FIRST gear and SECOND gear can you do a light tap on the clutch pedal say around 1/4 of the way down and get a good shift?

If you answered "YES" your problem is your clutch length adjustment problem .

You don't want the throw out bearing touching the fingers on the clutch. You want about .050" to account for thermal expansion.

The other issue is your transmission angle as the angle is important too .Those gears need a certain angle to create an internal situation that aids the meshing of the gears..

If you can fit them they sell motor mounts that will lift the engine 1.5" and some lift the engine from 1/2" to 1.25" just by putting a lift shim between the motor mount and the frame where the single nut is..

I know you say that the shifter hits the floor and there comes a time when you're gonna have to bite the bullet and gut the interior just enough and do the modifications needed to make the transmission mod work with the right angle.

Another thing that dictates the shift is proper rpms at idle for your camshaft specs.

Good Luck
