I just put all new components on the front of my stang. It is a 68 and is all manual but there is all sorts of play in the wheel and everything up front it tight. How can I tighten or at least minimize the play? Possibly throught the steering box?

If you can afford it switch to a rack and pinion, there are a few avail. for these cars. I love the TCP rack

If they're too expensive ,you can upgrade your box, flaming river and?

If thats too expensive, there used to be a company that would blueprint your steering box, I forget who it was maybe Global West??

i haven't looked but hopefully 68converted sent you a link to show how to tighten you steering box.
a nut on top of the box with a bolt sticking out of it. put a flat head screwdriver to hold the bolt in place while loosening the nut. then tighten the bolt a half turn at at time till the play is gone then tighten back up the nut.

if you have already tried this and still to loose... your right - your screwed and it is time for a new box.

good luck
