I can say with 100% confidence that I will not be seeing it.

I'm not doubting you, but I always say the same thing and then end up watching it on TV somehow or a buddy rents it for *****s and giggles and I end up seeing it anyway. I don't think I'll drop the $6.50 (matinee price) to see it, but on video maybe. Same thing happened to me on that damned gawdauful Gone in 60 Seconds BS remake.

AWD cars can do tricks that look suspiciously like RWD. Especially with the center differential unlocked. It's even possible with a little bit of technique to get the rear wheels to roast on an STI...

I though that AWD took a bit of pushing to throw around like a RWD, until I saw my cousin crossed up in his STI heading towards a fire hydrant, he saved it. That was after I beat him from a 3rd gear pull. They are very impressive cars to drive, indeed. I didnt want to get out of it.

If the cops are out to meet their quota, they should just hang out around the theaters on opening day.

Dont forget to install your grapefruit shooters and neons, otherwise, you might get laughed at.

I was forced to watch the trailer while at the theater to see another movie. Sheer comedy. A teenage wet dream. Car antics looked entirely CGI - prolly didn't need even one stunt driver to make that flick. Main character is the poor kid who played the QB in "Friday Night Lights", I guess.

Well, it turns out I was right after all. Check out this article: www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Features/articleId=115637
I knew my instincts were correct. They did a lot of wierd things in this movie. First the stang with the engine swap, now this...

My favorite part is when the magazines (hot rod types, cuz ricer mags are scared of real numbers) test all those "10 second cars".... and they run 14s and 15s.... hell, in the last one, the only car to get in the 12s was the yenko camaro. The supra ran like high 14s (thats slower than a stock one they had ran, it was so beat to crap). Three of the nasiest rides in the movie, they wreck right off the bat... the skyline, the vete and the Saleen. What a waste of film.

Oh and dont even get started on the first movie.... I doubt even Tims supra would run with a blown RB motor and a 727 behind it. (in the 1/4 at least... top speed/corners..., fah'get about-it.) BUT at least Tims is a "10 second car".

Uh, yeah. And that was with actual skilled drivers, not some dip$#!+ in a sideways baseball hat who has a 2-second RT and can't powershift.

Yes, but the way he did it does not exactly promote longevity. As I recall, he sprayed a 150 shot.

He knew the motor was tired and I think they were seeing how much it would take. I think they already had a new setup being put together when it happened anyways.

Tim - Is the new 8 second motor in?

Yeah, I assumed they were building a stroker to drop in that car. It was definitely time for a hail-mary nitrous run! When it comes to 2JZ shortblocks, there is not a whole lot of mystery as to what the next step for Tim would likely be. The stock shortblocks are cheap and plentiful, so the attitude generally is that if you grenade one, simply order another for two grand or so. The same attitude is prevalent in the RX7 world for a lot of owners. It must be nice to have stock engines that can take a lot of abuse, and are only a few grand to replace.
Rrev could do the stereotypical mid-level buildup, consisting of a ported head, carillo rods, cp pistons, cams, worked-over stock crank, etc. This would ad strength, but not the displacement they would need for a huge turbo. More than likely, they will do a 3.4L stroker kit, with fully ported head, etc.
I'll be curious to see if Rrev will install a turbo400 or powerglide in the car, to better handle a stroker and large ball bearing turbo. If they do, they should be able to shake up the Heads-up Northwest scene.

So my secret is out The new motor will not be up and running for a few months. I have everything I need, just not the time. 8's are the goal, but who knows how long it will take to work out the bugs. This season we will be running the TH400, I thought about putting in the glide over the winter, we will see.

I saw Tokyo Drift on Tuesday at a sneak preview. It was entertaining, but lame in spots. The mustang was GAY, but the rest of the cars were OK. If you guys watch the movie, check out the exhaust on the stang, NICE

I know it seems like the ricers are taking over, but keep in mind there are a few of us cool import owners out there. you know, I have way more domestic cars than imports, haha..

Check out the movie, the car scenes were pretty cool.
