Yeah... some of you know I roll with the wrong crowd... ya know... GM.

Well... tomorrow Im going to Tampa to pick up a 95 GT with 80k on the clock. I cant wait to get it... I think it will be a fun car.

Is there anything I need to check on it for maintenance issues???? Im going to take it for a drive before I buy... im not a novice... but I dont want to buy a project car where I always have to fix it.

Im taking my future wife with me just to make sure it feels good since she drives a 94 Stang all day.

I cant wait to row through the gears!!!!

Boy, that's gonna feel slow compared to your current vehicle...

Check the rubber behind the balancer, make sure it's not coming out and if it is get it replaced with a good aftermarket unit. What are your plans for the car?

Its really not gonna feel to impressive compared to what ur driving right now but depending on your plans for it you will love it....like Jake said check the balancer cuz you dont want that going....of course check for leaks and stuff (obviously) the 5.0 is a pretty bullet proof motor if taken care of so just make sure you take care of her....and welcome to the RIGHT side....

Interesting... there is rubber behind the crank pully???? Or are we talkin another pulley here....

Im going to keep it stock for a while while im in school.

Research what it takes to make a 5.0 fly.... and then build a motor.

It will only feel slow on top end... that damn 3800 stall is a killer. Makes it feel slow as hell. Sexystang1994's car feels faster than mine driving daily.

The crank pulley is just steel (or aluminum if aftermarket) and the crank pulley attaches to the balancer. There is a rubber ring behind the balancer. After awhile it starts to come out of the back and wobble.

"Im going to keep it stock for a while while im in school." <--- WOO heard that before, tends to not happen lol

behind the harmonic balancer there is rubber...and for whatever reason the balancers on our cars like to go around 100k and if you take a look down there and see some rubber kinda sticking out its a good bet its on its way....if thats the case dont let it be a deal breaker cuz its a good opportunity to step up to a nice Romac unit anyways....

I'm not sure if the owner will let you do this, but check to see if it's a one legger. Make sure the rear end still has good clutches. Also make sure there arent any codes with the check engine light.

Very true... gotta check that posi.

Then again... Never done a burnout with a manual so that could get ugly trying.

Engine Codes are an obvious one... thanks for the mention though.

How much are posi's for the 8.8 anyway???? I had a friend who had to replace posi and had gears done at the same time and it was about $470.

Is it a stick? That should be enough to make it fun to drive for alittle while. A few months down the road, you'll be pissed when you're being beat by the occasional ricer. I'd at least get a new rearend gear to help it out. Maybe even a Nitrous kit only to make sure that ricer doesn't win.
