i got an 8.8 posi rear out of a 90 mustang today for 50 dollars complete from drum to drum. if i read the tag right it was 3.27 gears i want to know how much of a difference that would be in acceleration over my 3.08 gears. eitherway im still happy cause im getting rid of my 7.5 rear now

there is only ~6% difference. not much that would really be noticable, IMHO.

'90 GT should be 2.73. 3.27 wasn't an option until '96 when they had to do something to make up for the loss of torque from the 4.6.

The 3.27 gearset was definitely an option earlier -- with automatics.

It's enough that you'll notice a difference. it won't be night and day, but you'll notice it.

according to the Official 5.0 MustangTechnical Reference & Performance Handbook.327's "were" an option for the aod in 1990.

Do you really have a 93-2.3 or have you swapped it? My 93 notch w/auto. came with 3.73's standard in its 7.5"

sorry about my speed of reply here i havent been on in a few days yes i really have a 93 2.3 the rear on the other hand is going in my 83 gt that got a 5.0 and a few goodies. only prob is the car is still going back together but its getting there then im thinking flat black paint job........ sleeper

If you've got it, put it in for now. You won't notice a huge difference from the 3.08's, but when you get your 3.55's or 3.73's with trac-loc...
