ok my DD died on me this am, so i had to take the coupe out of storage. A simple answer to this will be great! I have read jricker's idle surge check list i have 1 question. Would a TPS that is not set correct cause idle surge?

Being as you just took it out of storage what kinda fuel did it have in it? Perhaps its just bad gas giving you this issue.

no i filled it this AM and i was having this issue when i put here away butt i decided to wait until i took her out to fix it but due to my current situiation with my DD being down i had to drive her today. We messed with the TPS right before i put it in, and i was not doing it right. i had the engine running and i was using the chassis as a ground and was getting a bad reading and couldnt get it to set for the life of me. now i know what to do

In theory, the TPS either baselines and ratchets the baseline or it sets a code if it cannot zero out.

However, in practice many have noted a difference. Given it takes 2 minutes to set, I don't see a reason to not mess with it if it makes you feel better.

If you had the battery disconnected during the storage period, it can take some time for adaptive settings to refamiliarize themselves.

Good luck.

umm she's a DSS 306, TF wedge heads, eddie performer intake, f cam, 36lbers, 80mm pro-M meter, full exhaust, 70mm throttle body,

I replaced the ACT and ECT sensors last year.. HOWEVER... these sensors in the pics i will post below i have completely disconnected cause i believe they are for smog. i realize one is for the EGR but i was told once the EGR is throwing a code or something is not hooked up correctly to it, it will no longer function anyways so i thought they would be ok to remove. Once i did so tho i have a check engine light now on. i dont know what i should do about that, anyways here are the pics of the sensors i have removed.

if you read what others have posted, we set it like bafoons.. we set it with the motor on using the chassis as the ground. we were SUSPOSED to set it with the engine off, key on, using the wires on the TPS to ground it.
