Took my 94 GT VERT to the track. RESULTS INSIDE!

Hey, shouldn't you be posting over on TPH? ;)

I guess I'm getting older and don't care to take the risks that I used to on the street. From a dead stop it just takes too much real estate for this car to get up to 3rd for me to risk a ticket or hurting someone. I save those runs for the track.

LOL!! Shouldn't you be posting on TPH!!! LOL!! :SNSign:

I actually just kinda started reading some posts on here. I come back every now and again.

Street racing in Houston is not what it used to be. :flag:

they seem kind of on par with what i expected out of a vert. practice makes perfect. there's always stuff you can do to reduce some weight without really hurting you. you could always get a rear seat delete for at the track, remove the dog bone, the 25# weight in the fender... bunch of things to help lighten it up.

well... I am looking to get it tuned. I think it isn't getting enough spark or something. The car takes a while to start unless its already warmed up. When I bought the car it had bad spark plugs so I got new plugs and wires. I dont remember what the gap was on them.

What RPM should I be shifting at??

I got the launch down good on this car, but I also noticed that my car traps low compared to others. I am going to remove some weight, but I need to find the problem first. I was shifting around 5k-5.1k on all of those runs. Should I shift earlier? I don't think I can get a better time out of it the way it sits now.

I was looking to get a bigger MAF because I think the bbk 70mm tb is only hurting me since I have stock manifold and stock MAF.

Also, I was running 89 octane. Should I run a higher octane?? My car smells like it is running rich. The previous owner had it tuned for his h/c/i setup. So I need to get it tuned again.

my egr is also deleted. I get 3 codes regarding the egr when I do the KOER test(obd1)

I was told this is hurting me, but I was also told it doesn't hurt performance.

The previous owner had the side of the TB sealed and the header capped. Do I have to buy something if I want to put the egr back??? here is a picture of how it is sealed.

I've had both the 94vert all the way torn down and a 1995 Cobra. let's hook up and let me take a look at your ride. I could show you a few things and see if everything is on the up and up.

alright I sent you a pm!:nice:

I was thinking about getting it dyno'd and get an a/f reading too, but that wont be for a few weeks (on a tight budget while in school). What rwhp should it be putting down. I was either going to go to Houston Performance, Strictly, or g-force.

Houston performance quoted $100 for 3 pulls and a/f ratio. They will also tell me everything that is off and should be checked(spark, a/f, ect)

For 5.0 stuff. Slater's is the man!! He got 23 rwhp just from timing and fuel on my 95 cobra.
