took the Bullitt to the track

My GT had no problems hitting 99+mph stock in the 1/4. Stock I laid down 231hp with 2600 miles on the clock.

A guy in town (Grandpa Bullitt) ran his mouth to me and I raced him 3 times. Never once did he win. This was with only a K&N and the Borlas he had a Densecharger.

The only time he has beat me yet is when he mounted up his Nitto DR's. I couldn't hook off the line and got one he!! of a 2nd and 3rd gear scratch. After all of that he had me by a car. But his tires beat me not his car.

On a dyno a Bullitt has what 5hp on a GT? It's going to take more than that.

we're trying to compare cars and power...not drivers...so you and gramps can get on with your street racing and stay out of the discussion :notnice:

also, good for you that you hit 99 mph, what was your et? what were the conditons? then we can compare

Power, what part didn't you read. My whole point is that a Bullitt is no faster than a GT.

My typical E.T.'s were 13.81 - 14.02 99mph was my lowest trap speed. Plus I had one wacky 14.8 @ 100mph.

And by the way I live in Nebraska so I wouldn't really call it street racing. More like middle of no where deserted road racing.

Do you really think a Bullitt is that superior? It isn't.

Those are good numbers but what's done to it. Plus its not all about peak numbers its all about the power curve. Thats where the Bullitt really makes a difference over a standard GT.

predator, accufab tb/plenum(weak point on stock 2v's), JLT RAI and magnaflow catback.

I'll have to get a print of the dyno chart with before and after of the RAI.
Stock intake must be restrictive because mine doesn't drop off like it used to.
8-10 rwhp better at 5500 and 10-12 tq better.

That plenum really makes a difference in the high RPMs. I had the accufab combo on my old 00GT.

you ran 13.81 in a bone stock GT? interesting
people hit 13's with stock GT's, yes

13.706 @ 100.25 here with just a C&L MAF... and please don't tell me the MAF gave me 0.3 seconds.

track conditions were great that day, it hooked like crazy and ran my best 60' of 1.919

Thats a good run. I have seen quite a few GT's hitting 13's, the difference that I see is that the Bullitt has a little stiffer suspension which makes it a little harder to launch but they will generally catch up and trap a little higher than a stock GT due to the better powerband, but from a dig it is a drivers race. From a roll, its a different story. It's kinda like a 96-98 cobra vs a GT.

So whats so different from a roll.

My GT with K&N+trimmed snorkel, Borlas and Plenum spacer
vs
His Bullitt with Densecharger

From a 25mph roll was dead even until we shut down at 80mph.

So basically what people need to see here is yes a Bullitt has bigger brakes, harder suspension, intake and a different interior. But it's performance is no better than a GT. I do like the intake but it isn't worth the head ache to install one on my GT.

The difference is that the Bullitt has a better tprque curve and power band than a stock GT. With equal drivers the Bullitt will pull on a GT. Good race against the Bullitt, but you where even with the driver, not the car.

i know people can run 13's in stock GT's....I did with mine...

I just thought a 13.81 was impressive, I'd just like to know the details on the run; thats all.

My 13.81 was the best run I had that night. I ran a 2003 Mach1 and beat him. I somehow managed to get traction which was in short supply in my lane that night. My 60' was 2.03 and my trap speed was 100mph.
