Whats a good one to throw on top of the stock block? Ive looked at the trick flow. And it all seems great. But I really dont know what I am looking at. Like reading chinese I swear. I just want something that will work with the supercharger also. And just be nice on the street. As for price. I dont care. Just want quality and HP/Torque

If you have enough cash the trick flow top end kit is a solid choice.. Everything in the kit is made to work together. Put you around 300rwhp without charger. Makes the car way more fun to drive

The TFS topend kit is a very solid option. Like stated above it usually makes around 300rwhp without the blower. With all the proper supporting mods (fuel, ign, exh, tune, etc) and avg boost numbers very capable of 450-500rwhp

I got some pretty good feedback from these guys when I asked a similar question. I'm thinking along the same lines as you--looking for a top quality setup.

I think that the TFS top end kit is a solid package. I did a lot of research before I started buying stuff and have seen pretty much all positive things.

x1,000,000 for the TrickFlow top end kit. It has every last nut, bolt, washer and gasket you need for a complete job. It makes good power and will certainly not let you down

And I ousted in the my charger thread about the surge. When I pull up to a stop sign it starts to fluxuate almost like its about to stalk then goes up and down. Volt meter of course goes from 14 to 12. After that hapoens if it stalls I can't start it without giving a little throttle with the turn over.

Finish off with a good tune and you'll be set with trickflow.

Do both. And get a tune afterwards. Also what MAF and injectors are you running? Would need at least a 80mm and 42# and a good pump. Lines and rails are good to 500rwhp(and the block). If you keep boost down around 10# the block, rails, and lines should be fine. You will see a big difference after getting a proper tune(either a chip or go aftermarket standalone ecu).

You can do both, at some point you have to look at the costs, work level involved and Mostly what You want out of it... either or both are fair options....

Your surge issue is a common fox issue, clean your MAF and throttle body...

You essentially walked into a restaurant and said I'm hungry what should I eat. Without knowing what your goal, use nd budget is I would recommend

Step 1: Pick up phone
Step 2. Dial Ed Curtis @FTI
Step 3: Tell Ed what you want
Step 4: Write Ed the check
Step 5: Wait for parts to come from Ed
Step 6. Install

YES, this will cost you about $1000 more than buying the parts yourself. BUT, you will be getting

1. custom cam for your combination
2. expert advice and support
3. properly matched parts
4. Quality parts- heads, springs, cam

Know that this is more than throwing a set of heads, camshaft, intake and a supercharger on. You have another 20 or so more parts that need to be considered such as

Throttle body
Mass Air Sensor
Fuel Injectors
Fuel pressure regulator
Headers
Exhaust
HArmonic Balancer
Cooling
Fasteners,bolts, gaskets,
Spark plugs, wires

Then once you add all this wonderful power, you will need to address your
Suspension
braking
transmssion
Rear end

I will not be making the trip this year. Almost all of my racing will be at Cecil or Atco running in Ultra Street. The only 1/4 mile events I'll aim for will be MIR NMRA and World Cup. 1/4 mile is hard on parts and my wallet. Something about spinning a small block ford to 9,000rpm makes me cringe lol

the tfs kit, especially with boost, is still a great option. could it be optimized a bit? sure, the cam could be switched out for something a bit better, it would be nice if it used a better intake (btw, go for the track heat version if you can, i wish i had), things like that. but in general it does great for someone just getting into the whole working-on-cars thing as, other than bigger injectors, maf, and t/b, pretty much everything is there to make a solid 300rwp on an otherwise stock motor, and the heads are good enough to carry on to the next level.
