No BULL please, and no THEORETICAL top speeds please. I've heard all that. What is the fastest anyone has taken their 410 equiped Mustangs up to? What is the RPM's in 5th gear once you have reached the limit? And for that matter, how about guys with 373's? What is the top speed and at what RPM in 5th do you run out of steam? I have 373's and haven't had the nerve or the place to top mine out. Thanks.

I hit 150 mpg in my 03 gt with 4.10's in 5th gear and let out still had some rpms left. My car weighed 3220 with no driver and I had 1 passenger that weighed 150 and I weighed 165. At about 6000 rpms in 4th gear, the car would do 120 mph. If your debating 3.73's vs. 4.10's go 4.10's and you won't regret it.

150 mpg, damn that's great mileage!

I got mine up to 145 with plenty of rpm's left, but I'm not sure how accurate the speedometer is even with the speedcal from Dallas Mustang. I agree with MustangLife if your debating 3.73's vs. 4.10's go 4.10's and you won't regret it.

135 with plenty of revs to go. Probably could bury the needle if given enough room.

Burried my needle a few times...still had a few hundred rpms left too....I think...too busy looking ahead.

Damn fast...the sound of the wind howling was louder than the car.

...150 MPH...with no driver

I know what you are saying. Just sounded funny when I first read it.

I got up to 145 in mine the other night. But that was it. Wouldn't go any faster but that was due to my limited HP and not gearing. My speedo is Speedcal corrected so even given the inaccuracy of the speedo geared speedometer my guess is that is still pretty close because the 350Z (Yes I said 350Z but I won't go into details because Black2001GT will flame me ) I was running with could not get away as I stayed just behind his quarter panel.

dude, prozac is your friend. his speed & traps are accurate, there are people here that can attest to it. if you knew how he did it, which i don't feel like explaining, you would see it's very possible. there is no need for a tangent like that, that's what gives this tech a bad name. dear lord, since you have been racing for 30 years you think you could overlook one lil comment, instead of starting something. [/rant]

btw-the reason he said that is because noone is gunna reach their top speed with 4.10's. the reason is because of drag from the wind will not let you. once you get so fast, a mustang has the areodynamics of a brick. & for the fact that most of us don't have a place to test out something like that, without going to jail.

well here's the thing, you won't know your f'n high speed accurately unless you use a gps set up. and also to make an accurate reading you need 2 to 3 controlled runs with logged conditions. so if this thread is gay, you could get 1000 different guys to tell you 1000 different mphs and they will all have their cars maxxed out and still have a 20mph variance. Plus who the **** cares???

Funny thing is ive only been racing a little over a year and i've seen plenty of gts with my mods go this fast.

I know top speed is limited by drag. The speed reached WILL be your top speed. Thats why I said NO theoretical top speeds.

I've taken my automatic with 4.10's to 130 mph. That's in the 1/4 mile, on the track, in 3rd gear. I think I took it to 80 mph on the highway in OD. Anyone who drives faster than this on the street...

Actually, your top speed is the same with 3.27's, 3.73's, or 4.10's. Why do people continue to ask this question?
