I am coming up on the time, that I have to decide on a transmission.
The toploader, and TKO 600 are going to end up being around the same cost, once installed. Maybe the TKO is a little more when considering mounts and tunnel modifications.
The five speed will be nice on the highway and easier to shift. I am not convinced on the durability.
The toploader is a bolt in, but I'll have to fork out a bit more for the hurst shift linkage, to get it shifting nice. It does not have overdrive, but maybe is a little more bullet-proof than the TKO.
What are your thoughts, experinces, or opinions on the TKO vs the toploader.
The 428 we are using will start out stock, and then end up about 500 hp in a couple years.

. Plus the 5th gear will definitely be useful for the highway. UP is using it for their 427FE machines with a 325:1 rear end.
