torque monster?

im able to get a reman 351w lightning motor for 1300 from the zone....i belive ill start there and pull the heads and port them and change the cam. i got a tfs stage 1 cam thats is new i can throw in it.

HP sure but what about torque? How many 400+hp musclecars came with 3 inch exhaust? Sure, back then they didn't put much performance in exhaust but those cars made retarded torque. I've always understood that 3'' is great for high HP numbers but hurts torque.

Correct. Just a little trivia for ya. Back in the Early 60's they offered 3' single exhaust systems in the 421 SD's. How many actually took this option Im not sure,but it was an option.(They had torque in mind with this option Im sure!)

Do you think a 3'' single exhaust can flow as much as a duel 2.5'' exhaust? I think the favor would still be in the 2.5'', not to mention you'd have true duels and a crossover pipe instead of running a Y pipe. Although, it does work on LS1s. I didn't know that 3'' option though, that's good info
