i use a haynes manual whenever i need torque specs. the list of torque specs in my manual has no listing for upper to lower bolts. i have had my intake off quite a few times and never have a problem. the lower to head bolts require a pattern and specs but not the upper to lower.

i understand what DucatiRdr is saying, but then again not every nut and bolt has a torque spec so what do you do then ? ................. use common since and say snug it tight enough?

I wouldnt worry too much about the upper, theirs no sequence and I wouldnt torque them over 20lbs. Ive broken two upper intake bolts on the gt40 intake, make sure you have the right size bolts. Just make sure you got the lower correct. All torqued to spec and correct sequence.

Every nut and bolt DOES have a torque spec. I don't have the service manual or Haynes manual handy but inside one of those should be a torque spec for various specific bolts around the engine then a general torque spec for bolts of a specific size. For example on my Ducati non-specific 8mm fasteners are torqued to 19Nm. There should be a similar spec for the upper intake bolts.

upper is just over hand tight or you might possibly strip them...no need to go anything over 10 lbs IMO. Lower intake...I go 18 on aluminum heads retorque a couple times after driven...follow the sequence on the lower and use RTV on the block/heads/Intake ends.
