I am thinking of installing some 15x7 torque thrusts on my 65. Are there any clearance problems with the 7” or should I go with the 6”. I would appreciate any experience with these wheels.

Thanks, Jon22

I just put a brand new set on my '65 Coupe (15 x 7) with 225/60 x 15 and had rub on the rear with fender lips. Dropped back to the 225/50 x 15 and issue went away.

On my Fastback, with no fender lips, the above wheel and the 225/60 x 15's work just fine up front and out back.

I put a set of TTD 15x7's with 3 3/4" BS on my 65 coupe with BFG T/A's size215-65-15's all around. I have no issues with this combination but all of my fender lips are rolled. There would probably be a rub problem with the front without the rolled lips, as they are pretty close now.

I have the 15" x 7" on my 66 and there are no problems. I also have the large 12" discs and they just clear!

Wheels have 3 3/4 backspacing on the coupe and the fastback. Stock drums on the coupe and Granada's on the fastback. Steering same on both cars (fastback does have the quick steering ratio).

Happy Motoring!

I have the 15x7 on my '65 conv. My rear is a Grenada (a bit wider than stock) with Seville brakes - no problems.

Can you get those in 4.5 backspacing? I know when I had the 235/60/15s I had to roll the inner fender but they worked fine on my 15x7 welds out back.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think 14x6.

By the way, this is the guy that used to own your car.
