Has anyone installed a Torsen rear end differential (or have one already... assuming you have a Laguna Seca or track-ready Mustang)?

It's the ideal setup I think since it allows for one wheel to pick up the slack where the other is lacking. But my concern is that you can't get any traction out of either tire if one of them has 0 traction (0x0=0). Isn't this how the stock differential works or is this just a pitfall of the Torsen design?

Just to add some of my own findings, the stock differential is the trac-lok type. It has the friction discs in it and is kind of a middle of the road differential. Not superb for straightline, not superb for cornering. But it will keep you from getting stuck in most cases.

The Torsen is for better cornering/turning traction. The Torsen T-2 will leave you stuck in some instances, though, as I mentioned above. This is important to me since it snows and ices in the Midwest where I live. The Torsen T-2R is a variation that utilizes friction discs as a back up in the event that the vehicle meets a 0-friction scenario, which will keep the wheels moving somewhat. So it sounds like the T-2R design is more reliable for a daily driver.

Does anyone know how the T-2R compares to the Boss 302 Torsen- what is the difference? The T-2R seems to have been developed for the FR500S.
