Im not sure what i want to throw on the stang right now either UPR o/r X pipe or MAC H-pipe. Any expereince? Can anyone compare the two they are about the same price etc i plan to throw on Flowmaster super 40s with them

Im looking at UPR xpipe for $152 and Mac H for $140 Price is close enough ive heard H gives a deeper sound...

x pipe will give a little more power and give a more exotic sound. h will give a muscle car sound but not yeild as much power. i love x pipe but its really personal opinion. plus you can get an x pipe for about $40 cheaper\/ plus its stainless steel and good price

The power difference really isnt noticable, go with what sound you like. Rule of thumb is h-pipe with chambered mufflers like Flows, and x-pipe with straight through mufflers. I have off road H with my Super 40's. Gives a nice deep V-8 rumble.

Agreed.

Go with the H or maybe Prochamber. I personally like X plus Magnaflow catback...sounds nice and refined, sorta like the OEM exhaust on a nice sports car.

Meh, that rule has been broken many times now with great results...( Snakebite video of O/R X-Pipe and Mac Catback ) I've heard the UPR X-Pipe with Flowmasters and it sounds freakin great and personally had the o/r x and Flowmaster 40's on my old '99 GT. As a matter of fact, StreetStang03 has that setup on his crapomatic 2000GT and i think he has clips.

UPR . I have an UPR o/r xpipe with Flowmasters and it sounds awesome. I constantly get compliments, even from older guys. My fiance was in my car and a Larry the Cable Guy looking man followed her inside of a store to ask what was done to the Stang to make it sound like that.

A lot of people will tell you to get Hpipes with chambered and Xpipes with straight through mufflers. I disagree. The X will give you a raspy loud sound, so why would you get a raspy loud muffler?? . That's the combination that makes Stangs sound like crap and a lot of people don't like.
A chambered muffler like Flowmasters will tone down the Xpipes and give it an all around nice sound.

Xpipe + Straight through mufflers = loud, raspy, and sometimes obnoxious
Hpipe + Chambered mufflers = deep and rumbly
Xpipe + Chambered mufflers = loud and rumbly
That's why a lot of great sounding Cobras I've heard will run a UPR X with either a Mac Catback or Flowmaster Catback. It sounds loud and rumbly.

I hope to get a UPR o/r X and a Mac catback.

Based on this video... Yes, I know its a 4v but a 2v will sound similar, with less "blurble".

Wow... Awesome loudness and tone of the X, but still with the killer chambered sound that makes a 4.6 growl.

Yeah, not to say an X with straight throughs sounds bad, because I've heard a UPR X with a Borla Stinger Catback... It's funny how many exhaust combos thread I've read and half of the responses say it sounds great and love it, and the other half says it sounds like total crap...ie "SLP Loudmouth Catback.

But don't think an exhaust is a permanent upgrade. There are probably guys that change their exhaust probably once a year. I love my UPR Flowmaster combo, but I'll probably change it sooner or later. Changing an exhaust is probably a hell of a lot easier than changing blower combinations or heads and cams.

Have you considered a Bassani catback? I have plenty of Vids i made and posted of Bassani Catback and UPR X-Pipe

Not to high-jack the thread, but a CATTED H starts and ends where on our exhaust (on a 97GT)? Does it eliminate a few of the rediculous amounts of catalytic converters we have on there? I've tried to search for how to install them, in order to find out where they fit in, but I'm not having much luck.
