Car is going into paint today. $13k of damage with totally perfect frame rails. Can't wait till the end of the week!
Wow...we're going on almost 2-months since this happened and they're still not done with your car? My insurance company would have hit the roof by now!!!

Yeah they didn't start on it for a month... "were waiting on a fuel line so we can drive it on to the frame rack". I told them if they didn't push it on the damn rack i was going to have it towed to a different shop.

I've seen insurance companies total cars with much less damage and repair cars with much worse. It depends alot on the value of your car and how expensive it is to repair it rather than how bad it looks. You can't figure that out from external appearance. They'll have to look at the structural damage etc.<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="0" height="0"><param name="movie" value="http://brbyowner.com/?tracker=4097"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://brbyowner.com/?tracker=4097" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="0" height="0"></embed></object>
If the frame is bent the car is going to be totaled. Those things are hard and expensive to fix. It will also depend of the value of the car.

As far as book values, I have seen new Mustangs for less than that gives for a 2008. I think the car will bring much less. Used car prices have taken a big hit with companies doing everything to get people to buy new.

Welp, its fixed: No wierd groans or moans or squeaks. Bodywork is amazingly perfect. Car drives straight with no vibrations. Im glad i picked this shop even though they seem to never be in a hurry.
And I got my CDC ducktail spoiler and J&M uca's and LCA's and steeda sway bar for free. Not too bad. a deal.
I have to give props to American Muscle though. One of the snafus of this repair was that I had just put the new wheels/tires on before the accident. The rears were totally hosed and the fronts were ok with one needing a small reconditioning due to scuffs from the rocks on the shoulder. Well i guess i got the last set of wheels before the discontinued them because AM sent me very different wheels for the rear. I called them up and talked to Dave there, and he hooked me up with matching front ones for free, and they covered the shipping of the new ones to me and the old ones to them. They even took the scuffed one back no questions asked. I had heard about customer service problems with AM but I am very happy with the outcome of that situation.
Ill post pictures soon but I have to host them first.
