Totally stock/Fastest Time???

14.5's are usual times, My car is a 89gt HB and the previous owner ran a 13.9 with underdrive pullies, 3.73's,engine compartment cold air intake :notnice: :notnice: , a heavy duty t-5 and a centerforce clutch. Minor mods, but the engine is completly untouched.

ERnotch went 12.96 @ 103.6 with stock heads, stock cam, stock intake, stock throttle body, stock headers. He did have mods but the motor was 100% stock! There have been a few people with stock motors to go 12s, but as far as 100% untouched, maybe high 13s to low 14s!

Way back when ('85/86) Hot Rod tested the '86 GT and it ran a 14.7@92mph, that's with the 200hp E6 heads HO engine. The norm for 87-93's were mid 14's. Notches ran slightly faster(less wieght) low 14's. Now do you mean bone stock as in NO "free mods"??? Like bumped timing, no air silencer, no front sway bar, gutted trunk/hatch, etc..That will make times vary as well.

No you can have gears.cai, exhaust, sticky tires.I plan on going when the track opens in the spring.I was curious because my engine is 100% stock/aod.But I have a 2800stall,shift kit,3.73's,cai,and I will have a set of slicks.ERnotch went 12.90's?wow!! Im hoping for mid to high 13's

Well after i installed 3.73s..o/r exhaust..K&N filter and slicks.

[email protected] slicks

[email protected] street tires

Added: 73 c&l...Lts...electric fan...removed a/c and smog...Battery in the trunk...and a Tri-ax shifter....and ran [email protected].

Then last summer it ran 12.58@108 with gt-40 intake and b cam. Stock heads were still on the car.

Now I have ported gt-40 heads and TFS street heat Also ported and a lunati 51014 cam........but i have to wait a few more months to get it on a track.

I've never took my car to the track. Gonna soon. But theres a guy on the Corral who calims he pulled a 12.99 with just 4.10's. It a 5 speed Notchback so it could be possible. He was probably running Nitto's or something. Im hoping for low 13's but I doubt it I'll probably end up with like a 15 knowing my luck.

I think with slicks I will get a good time.Cause rite now I get some deadly hole shots!!! But I need the traction

What do you get for 60ft. Slicks usually cut .1-.15 of a tenth off. Does for me anyway. With slicks i launch at 5000-5100 and with street tires i slip the clutch for 20-30 feet and then ease it in. Usually get away with no wheelspin but the 1/4 is uaually 3 or 4 tenths slower. 13.0s-12.95 on street tires is the NORM. 12.60s on slicks. But it should be alot quicker this year.

Cant wait for this spring.....i will probably go out and bust something :notnice:
