I searched but I couldnt find the thread about touching up sating ponies. I have a set with some slight fading or what seems to be the clear coat. Is this fixable at home? Or only done by a shop? Also the center caps seem a lil off color. I'd like to fix em up and get them lookin new. ANy ideas or advice?

i would wash them wipe down with wax and grease remover take the horse emblem off the center cap if possible find the paint code and scuff and spray the rims in a single stage finish or if u want to spend the extra coin base clear

I've seen somewhere, 50 resto maybe, a spray bomb that was the proper "argent" pony wheel paint color. If you are bucks down with careful clean and prep, removal of the horsey emblems like Rmodel said you can get good looks that way too. They are rims and will be chipped and beat up no matter how much $$ you spend refinishing them even if you are careful!

thanks guys.....other than the fading clear the are in really good condition. No rashes at all. I will look into what was suggested. thanks.

edit**

I found the Argent spray on 50resto you mentioned. Do you (or anyone else) have any recommendations on the base clear coat I should use? Couldnt find that on 50resto.

Any other advice on the process would be greatly appreciated.
