Tough starts in the AM and when cold

On my 84, It takes about a good 3-4 minutes to get it going. After that everything is all good (except the exhaust leak..lol). But what causes this? I have replaced plugs and wires, distributor cap, Starter, Starter solenoid, voltage regulator, battery and alternator. I want to be able to basically crank it once and the engine jump to life and into the auto fast idle when cold. Any ideas?

The car is carbaurated, basically stock right now.

im not sure what carb you have exactly but i bet you need to adjust the choke on it. most likely there will be a black housing on the side with 3 screws and you need to loosen 2 of them i believe and adjust it in the morning when it is cold and has sat over night or you can warm it up completely then adjust it. look in your manual if it is aftermarket or online at there site and it will give you the exact details.
