TPS Removal

In order to replace the TPS I have to remove the IAC...is that right? Because I do not see how I am supposed to get to those screws unless I remove the IAC. The only problem is that I cannot get to the bottom screw of the IAC? My question is if I can remove a couple of the fuel lines so that I have more room to work with. Do I need to do anything before I remove those fuel lines or can I just disconnect them? I am getting very frustrated with a job I thought I could do! Any help would be appreciated.

might be easier if you remove the TB... the TPS screws are a bitch to get out, i had to drill out the screw heads in order to get it off my stock TB to swap it to the new one

I dont understand how you guys adjust your tps. Its impossible to get the screws loose with it on the car, but thats the only way to adjust it AHH!

Im with Urban...Take the TB off and save yourself some frustration...Then you can access things easier..
I have broke those TPS screws myself...they're long and tend to rust in place over time...

You guys don't adjust your TPS?

I was going to this weekend. I recently installed a new throttle body (along with a new manifold) and figured that after setting my idle I should adjust my TPS. Is this not necessary?

The car has a noticeable if very brief lag if you hit the gas hard from a stop- it doesn't want to climb from 700-1000 RPMs. After 1000 or once rolling it's fine. I figured this could be directly related to the TPS.

Please don't think I'm trying to be a wise guy or anything but the 94-95 tps adjustment has been talked about over and over by peeps with all different experiences and knowledge.

I myself do not worry about the setting but why not check it out for yourself with a search on this specific forum?

I never considered it as warranting a search as I always assumed that adjusting your TPS was just something you did after changing your idle or replacing your throttle body. I was suprised by the responses in this thread.

Well the CEL was not on, but I ran the codes just to see if I got anything and I got 122 which states the TPS has low voltage. So I am sure it needs to be replaced. I will see if the TB will be any easier. Thanks.

Yes they are very hard to get out...how do you use the drill to get them out. Does that mean I am going to need new screws and cannot reuse the same ones.

do you have a rotary tool. make a cut in the head for a big flathead

I used vise grips to unscrew the stock screws. You could probably re-use them, but I just picked up new ones from the hardware store.
