I've been trying to get my car to idle better. I adjusted the TB butterfly to allow more air in at idle. I set the voltage at the TPS at 1.1v at idle. Is this ok or should I set it between .5 and 1 volt. Does the 1.1v negatively affect the idle. Thanks

I think it should be as close to 1 as possible...it's been a while since I did my throttle body, but I think 1.1 shouldn't hurt it.

Our cars don't get its closed throttle info like the older Fox cars.

That tps below 1.0 volt setting thing is not necessary on our cars.

Grady, Are you saying that say 1.6v or 2.0v would not matter or hurt the idle. Thanks

Well, thats pretty high

If you had a closed throttle volt reading that high, I would think something is wrong like a faulty tps or the tps is not mounted correctly on the t b cause when everything is correct, you should be fairly close to 1.0

As John pointed out in this thread, he sees 1.2 but all is ok.

Just trying to inform peeps that with the Fox tps you see many threads that say anything over .99xx volts is bad and you need to adjust it down to that range.

Those threads and that kind of info is not to be used with our pcm's.

I don't think it would hurt it at idle in the slightest.

Start with other things. Check plugs/wires/cap/rotor, fuel pressure, how many inches of vacuum are you seeing, what mods do you have, when did this idle problem start, was it after a new mod or a changed part.

Next, when you say bad idle, do you mean the RPM's fluctuate, or the engine runs rough, like it's missing.

MAF Fox puters (A9l, A9P, et al) should also zero out the baseline TPS as long as it is within spec (if out of spec, a code should be tossed).
