Is there a certian way you need to set your tps on your car?
Would it cause the car not to start?
Should I be getting a power signal to the tps ?:SNSign:

dont know exactly what your doing but to set your tps turn your key forward but don't start it. pierce the green wire with a pin. take a digital voltmeter and touch the + to the pin, and the neg to a good ground. loosen the 2 screws on top, and turn your tps till you get to .985V.
i don't think a poorly set tps would cause your car not to start though...

The TPS will zero out and if it cannot, it should throw a code.

In general, a TPS reading of 3.7+ volts can keep the car from starting.

Good luck.

Sorry to ThreadJack, but I just bought a new Ford Racing 65mm TB and it already comes with the TPS Installed, is it going to be preset or will I have to adjust it?

E - what I would do (note that I said "I" in case S&2B's comes in here later ) is do the install and simply check where your TPS is baselined. It should be real close. Unless it was off by a country mile, I'd leave it myself (ratcheting keeps a reading within adaptive-control in spec).
It is nice to see where you're starting off though (I know you're a pretty particular/meticulous guy). A personal E.g.: I've never adjusted the one on the '88, but I know it sits at just under 1.20 volts; that's fine with me.

Just MHO. Good luck.
