TR3650 1-2 and/or 2-3 rough feel on engagement...

1700+ postcount thread on this issue here, dating back to 2001 (or earlier?)

What did YOU do to solve or mitigate this problem?

1) TSB fix, under warranty for many, $1650 for the rest

2) Refill with Havoline Dexron III and lower fill level to 3.0L

3) Install aftermarket shifter

4) Replace self-adjusting clutch setup with manual f/w adjuster and quadrant

5) Bottle of Lucas transmission fix

6) Learn to shift a different way (IE very slowly, or skipping 1-2)

7) Installed a T56 or TKO

I am afraid that the TSB fix is the only thing that worked for me. It's about 90% better. The TSB fix/kit actually has different parts in it.

When did the price jump to $1650?

Last i read it was $900 in parts



For $1650 i would buy a TKO

I'm out of warranty by 10 months, but only 4000 miles on car. I've found a place that I MAY be able to purchase a Ford ESP from anyway, but afraid they will just deny the repair because I have a Steeda tri-ax, f/w adjuster, metal quadrant and 315mm tires in the back.

That $ is the reason I went ahead and swapped the 3650 for the 56 when it 3650 started acting up in the mach.
