Ive been noticing that my shifter will vibrate excessivly in 3rd gear, espically during acceleration.
Whenever I shift the transmission and let off the clutch pedal a little fast i feel and hear the transmission go clunk and feel the tranny move under the shifter back and forth . If I release the clutch pedal very slowly after shifting its much less noticable
Is this all normal? I was trying to read through the 3650 thread but too many pages..

The tranny mount seemed a little worn out when I checked underneath and drained the tranny fluid and filled it up with Dexron III 3.2 quarts.
Hopefully when I order the motor and tranny mount this problem will go away but thats the only thing I can think of the car has about 36k miles on it.

if you're in 3rd (and 3rd only) and you are at low rpm and bounce the gas a bit does the shifter "pop" in and out, but stay in gear?

If so I have the same problem and it's the shift fork and messed up synchros.

Ford replaced mine and the problem was fixed, but they installed wrong and 10k later it has returned, I'm just ditching the tranny and getting a built one. I'm quite sick of it.

If it's something else, I wish you the best of luck.

Hmm... well im not sure if it "pops" but it does move excesively but it feels more then the shifter that moves when I do it.
Correct me if im wrong but if it is a messed up shift fork or synchros wouldnt i hear grinding for the syncrhros and with the shift fork wouldnt it not engage properly?

not nessecairly... mine doesn't make any noise, it didn't the first time either. But sure enough I had a bent shift fork and the synchro for 3rd was dying on me.

Other than speed shifts it goes into gear fine.. cold it's notchy into 3rd, but warm and normal shifting you wouldn't even notice except for the low RPM "jumping"

Thats true,I just had my T45 rebuilt last week 3rd synchro was bad and others worn plus worn shift forks, normal driving you wouldnt notice a thing, but rev to about 3200 and try to shift, then it would grind 3rd mostly and the other gears would feel like they were getting in a bind.

I did not get one from promotion but they did call me back and I talked to them for about 15-20 mins and they really seemed to know what they were talking about, they also build alot of pro's setups so I would think that would say something. They do sell 2 types of most of there trannys, stock version then a beefed up version with beefed up parts like carbon fiber synchros,I think something like brass forks, dont really remember.

Promotion 3650s? Do they have a website? becuase if mine craps out i think im just going to either get a t56 or drop in a beefed up 3650 if available for a good price.
