Ok, the track opened for "Test and Tune" yesterday, and it rained all day! Now today kicks off the "Midnight Madness" series. Rules of the day include having an "overflow catch can"... and I literally have a "can" right now, a Mountain Dew soda can. (installed Summit radiator and black magic fan, lost orignal tank...)

Does anybody know how strict they are on this topic? Do any of you use anything other than the original plastic tank? I want to go to the track so bad today, but I don't want to get shut out by Tech Inspec....

I can go to a scrap yard and get a factory one to install later this week, but I'd really like to see what I can run today.....

Here is an idea:

Use the washer fluid resevoir for coolant. It can be rigged up.

I had to remove my factory recovery tank to rout new fuel lines, and make room for new MSD box. Since mine is not a daily driver, I disconnected the washer line form the W/S washer bottle, and connected the radiator tube to it. My washer bottle is in front of the radiator, so less chance of getting water on my new MSD stuff

you can get away with the 20 oz dew botle the first time but i would get a tank because the first time the rad over flows that bottle will melt down and no more over flow

I just use a gallon jug of bleche white, just painted the jug black to help it not look so bad. Hack? yes, but it works.

Thanks everybody! I just got back from the gym, figured I'd work off some of that frustration from not being able to hit the track. Since the black magic fan came with a bracket to mount the stock overflow tank I'll just pick on up at a scap yard this week... I'll have to wait till next week to make a run.
