Track time with new motor? How'd I do?

I know a guy with a 352 that only went 13.0, and another kid that had a 423 rwhp fox that went 14.2 @ 98...

If you want to go knocking timeslips its easy to point out someone faster with less or slower with more... No need to worry about it, everyone runs different times for different reasons!

Hey thanks. Im glad that you can rub it in that my car is a POS. And your trying to say you dont talk s**t about other people.

THANKS DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What the hell, where did he come from? Here we go again. I did not say your car is a POS this is the first time I have ever seen or heard of you  But if you are one of those guys with a 347 that runs low 13's don't worry just listen to these guys it will take more practice. Expesially if you have a stick you will have to learn how to hook and once you do your car will be faster than mine! Look, I have a friend that spent $11,000 all on his motor for his 347 build and I spent $10,000 on my entire build: engine, trans, rear end, suspension and exhaust and I beat him cuz he ran a 13.1, now he is angry. But his MPH was 111 so I know his car has high 11's in it he just has to find it by hooking.

One thing I can't understand on these sites is everyone always has to be so negative, what the hell is it with people these days. When I see other Fox bodies on the street we always give each other a nod or some type of acknowledgement, but on these sites it's like we always flip each other the bird. For some reason I can't understand it

I rarely if ever get a nob or thumbs up, usually get a glare or a rev and the kid trying to race me. Some of the nicest and cockiest people own Mustangs out there!

I agree, most mustang drivers around here are tools. How was the track? I can go to the same track down here in Texas and depending on how they prep it, I can loose up to .3 Just a thought...

For a NA AOD, that's really a decent time. Sure it could be a bit better, but can't it always

Swap to a 5 speed, and it would likely be a high eleven car.

Besides track day #1 rarely yields the best times.

What converter are you running. That could be hurting your times. You should cross the line faster than 108. My buddies 306 is stock, with Flat top piston and AFR 185 head went 110.89mph but he couldn't drive because his best 60ft where 1.90 and [email protected]. If you don't have the right converter in there that will hurt a lot of power. Don't worry I have a 351W and it only goes 12.60's@106 but mine is stock. I'm impressed with my stock 351 going 12.60 on motor and 11.20's on a 175 shot. Some people might think that's slow but for what's in my motor that is decent times. Get all the bugs worked out that thing should fly then add the boost.

I agree, but the first race my combo went 103 mph with a bad fuel pump. My dads went 105 first time out, and the car now runs 111-112 with not much more done to it. It takes time to run the best number possible for a combo, ask ANY racer!

Not sure how the track was, How do you tell if the track was good or bad? Considering the times I got I thought it was pretty good

Converter is one of the BEST Edge Racing 3200 stall. Custom for my set-up after speaking with Andre, of course that was with 3:73's.

Hey one important question, since everyone is commenting on how they feel about my set-up:

What do you guys feel would be an HONEST respectable time this thing should run with the set-up I have?

Also I thought about retarding the cam this winter: think that is a good idea?

Retarding the cam is a good idea, and I come from a racing arena over here so you dont want to here what I have to say...

I know guys with stock bottem end 308d, iron TFS heads, 650 carb and a 175 shot going 9.9 @ 135+ through a Tremec, as well as many other fast cars. One similar car we know is a 331 with all the goodies and a toploader but hes been 10.0 I believe!

Id say into the mid 11s at 115+ should be alright!

Bring your little LX over to my side of town and I will hand you your ass on a titanium platter :owned:
I would certainly hope you would with that list of mods, asshat... But I would think it would be a little worse ass whoopin'. Your car is a dog. AFR 185s, stroked, all the supporting mods... and you're running the same time my POS 83 LX Vert did with stock 83 heads.
