Traded the V6 for a pretty good deal

So yesterday I finally unloaded the 03. Talk about mixed emotions....I really loved that car..but because I drove it every day to college, I managed to rack up the mileage pretty quick....67k to be exact. :( So instead of doing a transmission flush, coolant flush, replacing the rear tires, getting an alignment, and trying to figure out just wtf is up with my headlight wiring, I decided to take a trip down to CarMax and see what was up. I wanted this 2002 Trans Am they had down there, but it had 32k miles on it and they were asking $20k. Between the payments and the insurance, there was no way I was going to hand over the cash required. SO, I started looking for an alternative and found a 1999 Anniversary GT for sale. Bright red, black hood stripe, and only 40k miles on it :jaw: . The sticker on it was $13k...and after driving it, I just couldn't help myself :D. So I traded in the Stang for $7k and took on some cheap payments to move up to the GT. I'm enjoying the manual shift quite a bit, but it's definitly going to be a few days before I get used to it. But at any rate, just thought I'd post this to keep you guys and gals up to date. I'll still be hanging around the V6 forums though :nice: . I really like the V6 stangs as I have owned 2, and believe me when I say that having the GT is not going to go to my head. I'm too old for that egotistical crap :D . Well, let me know what you guys/gals think. Was it a good deal or did I screw up? :flag: :SNSign:

Yeah, I do like the GT better. It has alot more power and handles better..but still, I do miss the old V6 :( . The first thing I need to do is tint the windows. I can't believe whoever had it before didn't do at least that much...especially with the Texas heat. Well...I should have waited until I had pics to start this thread I guess..lol..but I couldn't resist the urge to tell everyone. :D I'll try to get those pics soon, but it will be a few days because of my work schedule and the fact that I don't have much daylight by the time I get home. I hate to say it, but it may even be Sunday..which is my next day off. Work sucks :nonono: ...but then...it is the reason I have a Mustang at all, so I guess I can't complain too much right? :D

I'll be interested to hear how you like adjusting to a manual.. I assume your last car was an automatic?? I have not driven a stick since 1999, and that was.. (ok this is a very very shameful, painful, humiliating admission here..) it was in a.. --sigh-- umm, well, a Hyundai Accent. :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: OK OK!! We've all done things we're not proud of! And it had a 10 year warranty! 10 YEARS!! ...anyway, I obviously ditched that and moved on. I was thinking of making my next car a manual shifter, but I'm not sure.

In all fairness it's a limited drivetrain warranty that will only last for 10 years if you keep 100k miles off the odo.
Most manufacturers could do one of those since you don't usually hear of engines or trannies giving out before 100k miles.

Gotta make it fun somehow.
