Roush tranny @18800 is looking grim..

let me start out by saying my saleen is a piece of junk that has given me nothing but problems since day one, and as of last night at 18800 miles, when im in high rpms and shift into 3rd, all i get is a grind then it goes into gear, driving and shifting at low rpm there is no problem, only when excellerating decently... would you take it in for warranty with aftermarket gears or take them out and replace the stock gears and still hope the dealership covers the transmission under warranty...any suggestions or anyone with the same problem feel free to reply

Sounds like it's time for a new clutch.

I use to have problems shifting at high RPM's with the stock shifter, especially third. I switched to a tri-ax and problem solved. Could be the clutch to though...

Extreme Saleen has a good point that I forgot about which I have experienced as well.

Question: How hard/easy is it to get your car into gear from neutral; if it is difficult, it is most likely the clutch.

If the problem is isolated to 3rd gear only, then its not your clutch.
