Finally got my tranny fixed.....just replaced countershaft, 2nd gear, 3rd gear and got a rebuild kit. So its been fun driving it again. But now I have another problem. It just started tonight. Whenever I get on it and the revs are 3k or higher (seems to be at least) it breaks up and makes a backfire sound. Buddy that was behind me said he saw blue smoke, but it was at night. I could see the cloud behind me, but not the color. Any ideas? I was thinking I got some bad gas, but the blue smoke bothers me. Oh yea, the oil pressure is right under 40 (35-40) when its hot. Thanks for any help.

An engine that misses at higher RPM when hot is a sign of a failing TFI module.

Still have the receipt? If so, take it back and tell them you want a new one under warranty.

Well, I put the new part on.....still does the same thing....sometimes seems worse....anyone think the coil could be a problem? Its the stock one thats been on it forever. I noticed for a split second when it was skipping and doing all of its stupid crap that the tach seemed to hiccup real quick.
