Well, I have a TKO 500, and it's about time to change the fluid.
They reccommend GM Syncromesh for the tranny so I was wondering.
ACdelco Syncromesh=GM Syncromesh right?
I also heard that the Penzoil Syncromesh was the same thing as GM Syncro because they actually made it or something?
Penzoil stuff is a little cheaper and would go that route if that is indeed the case.

Anyone know?

It's really really hard to get accurate info about this - i did an long search some years back. To add to it, there are different flavors of the GM synchromesh fluid (that you'd get from GM) alone!

I wont begin to try and recall what I had found out because I'm sure I remembered it wrong.

I might get with the Tremec and ask them for a PART NUMBER of the fluid they desire you to use.

Good luck.

The GM syncro mesh is recommended. I have a stock T-45 and a stock T-5 in my Mustangs, I have just used regular Valvoline Fluid ATF. I haven't had any issues, but it is really just up to you if you want to spend an extra few bucks a quart.

I wouldnt compare what fluids a T45 or T5 takes, versus a possibly brand-spankin-new TKO (with possible warranty concerns).
The way the post read [suggested to me] that any old ATF could suffice. I'd respectfully disagree.

Yeah I know what you mean, I am not trying to talk him into it. It just sounded like he wasn't sure to use that or not. I would use whatever the manufacturer says. A few bucks more is worth it.

You can use certain types of Redline and Royal Purple has a good one called Synchromax I think. If you want the part number for the GM synchromesh, D&D performance has it on their site under install tips for the TKO
