Guys here is my problem. I bought my car with the stock t5 in it and 4.10 rear gears. I hated the combo so I swapped out the rear gears to 3.55's. Now its a nice setup and i like the feel but, the trans is starting to grind. I want to switch to the g-force t5 but the only sell and 2.92 first gear instead of my stock t5's 3.35. Also astro sell a 2.95 gear set in there A five trans.

How much difference will I see switching to the 2.92-2.95 first gear. I do not want the car to be a dog out of the hole. Any info would be great. Also i know tremecs tko 500 has close gear ratios to my stock t5, I was just looking for other options. Did not really want to run the tremec, i like how the g-force uses the stock casing.

2.92 to a 2.95 is nothing.
heres a neat little calculator that i found pretty usefull...

i think me meant from a 3.35 to either a 2.92 or 2.95...

you'll feel a bit of a difference out of the hole dropping the gearing in the transmission to 2.95 with 3.55's in the rear. i felt a difference in a car with 3.27's when i switched from a 3.35 T5 to a 2.95. it's gonna cost money, of course, but if you want it to pull hard out of the hole, i'd switch back up to 3.73's or 3.90's, maybe even 4.10's again, and get the astro t5 with the 2.95. truthfully though, it'll probably still pull pretty hard with the 3.55's and a 2.95, but there's more potential there if you'd switch to a steeper gear ratio out back. and a sticky tire. ;)

Thanks for the info, I changed to 3.55's because I plan on supercharging this thing. Hopefully soon, just trying to see what trans to use, I was going to run a t5z but I dont want to blow the trans up. If I have to I'll switch back to a different gear. Not really looking forward to doing gears again in my driveway, kind sucks doing it laying on my back.
