tranny q/a

New to this forum and its a great site. was wondering would a 26 spline c-4 fit in a 67 the bell housing's match and I already have a stall converter for the 26 spline tranny. the old 24 spline tranny has died and I got a great deal on this one that was going to go into a 70 but the guy never picked it up from the shop that built it so I got it. Is there any thing else I should look for parts wise before I start the swap. the converter from the old tranny has a 10.5'' bolt circle and so does the 26 spline. A buddy sayed he tried it before but when he got it together it bound up and the motor wouldn't turn over I just figured he screwed somthing up(he is not the brightest bulb in the box).

Yes, it'll work. Your buddy probably just mixed up parts between the two. The bell pattern and flexplate should be interchangable. The torque converters aren't. He likely didn't have the converter stabbed all the way into the front pump.

Thanks for all the help!!!!! I'll let you all know how the install goes today. I have spent most the day TIG welding some exhaust for my daily driver (it's a bug and I backed into a curb and broke some welds on my header). Merry xmas
