Alright so I see all of you guys that have Stroker motors and Blown 302's but what are you all concidering when it comes to transmissions. I'm looking at starting on a stroker motor this summer probably 331 or 347 less that 500hp. I know the SN95 came with a World Class T-5 but from my knowledge and reading the specs it can't handle what I'm about to throw at it. What are some options. Rebuilding it with stronger parts or going with a Tremec TKO (which requires longer driveshaft, different clutch fork, and cross member mods). Let me know what I can do. Thanks

if you don't want to deal with the different dimensions of the tremec, a g-force t-5 might be the way to go, however, many more guys opt for the tremec because it is proven to kick a$$ where there isnt much experience with the g-force trannys

i wish i could help ya with all fo the differences... i dont know myself, but ill say that its everything you just said, and maybe more. theres so many guys on here that can help you in that department, use a search on tremec swaps and tremec trans and i bet you'll find all the info you'll need if no one chimes in here

The TKO500/600 comes with a shifter. Kinda notchy for my taste though.

Everything you may need:

Foxbody Clutch Fork
Tremec Bellhousing
New clutch for 26 spline (if you get the 600 or upgraded 500)
New Motorcraft T/O bearing if using a SPEC clutch (spec's throwout's are throwaways).
3 quarts of GM Syncromesh fluid
31-spline d/s yoke
3/8 driveshaft spacer kit w/longer bolts (steeda)
you may need to elongate the holes in the crossmember slightly to fit the shorter tranny. Some have had to flip the crossmember to solve vibration issues, some haven't.
a 1/4" spacer to go between the motor mount and crossmember, or a PHP crossmember adapter...

things recommended:
New front U-joint as you will have to pound the old one out.
If you don't already have an aluminum D/S, I'd recommend going with one for a newer car, the T-45 had a 31-spline output already IIRC, so you absolutely won't have U-joint or balance issues.

BTW I'd recommend going with the 600. I didn't, but I got an upgraded 500 with the 26-spline input shaft. A 600 would have been like 14 dollars more expensive, so I'm kicking myself there....

wow...your a life saver....alright so the TKO 600 has a 26 spline input and a 31 spline output....so I go with the driveshaft for the T-45.....ok i understand everything but the motor mounts? Do I need different ones or whats this spacer you said was between the motor mounts and the crossmember?

Oops, my bad. I meant tranny mount not motor mount....

Not to ad plug or anything, but I bought mine from CFM and the service was outstanding. It was pretty much a one-stop shopping center (already had a bell though) and they shipped everything free inside the tranny box, except the clutch which came straight from Spec.
