trans cooler fittings?

I just bought a hayden trans cooler(1403) and just needed to know what size fittings i need to work with the stock cooler and how many of each i need. Ive searched and seen 1/4 female coupling, 1/4 in with 3/8's barb, have heard 5/16 and 3/8. This is for my 96 gt btw.

Have a hard time remembering what size I used , but im leaning more to 1/4 .

Im sure I used a 1/4 female NPT coupling , with a 1/4in with a 3/8 barb for the top return line , the coupling will need a few wraps of tape because the 1/4 npt coupling is a differnt type of thread , but with the tape it will not leak !

Did the kit come with a coupling that goes into the top Radiator hole ?

not sure yet, just ordered it today haha, just wanted to get everything together so im not screwing around as this is my dd. I think i might run it as a stand alone because i checked the fittings today and the top one looks pretty rusted and might not come out or just snap.

yea of course my radiator fan siezed up so i bought a used radiator and fan from an 01 and fitted it into my car with a little bracket modification but found out the fittings are 5/16 going into the stock radiator/trans cooler this was the same also for my 96 radiator also
