On my 95 GT, Im gettin a trans cooler by hayden I think. I saw it at advance auto. It's like 60 bucks and about 13" x 8".
Is there a good place to put it besides the hot area ahead of the radiator? Has anyone put them behind a driving light? Mines broken anyway. Where have u guys put yours?
thanx

The area in front of the radiator would be the coolest place -- I think that's why it's the most common spot.

A place with good airflow is a must. If you get that by the driving light and want to put it there, by all means...it will only help. :nice:

Sound advice from the ever-wise Adam. :nice:

I would recommend using a stacked plate cooler. B&M makes a nice stacked plate unit (Supercooler).

I have mine on the driver side front - in front of the condensor. It is mounted lengthwise and seems to get plenty of air flow (plus it is mounted close to the condensor, so the fan should be able to pull some air through it while stationary).

I get air through the bottom rad opening and the opening where the hood latch is (better than the fog light IMHO). I was going to make an alum air dam/chin spoiler, but have not had to yet.

the top radiator heat exchanger line should be the output from the heat exchanger, if you want to have the aux cooler in series after the heat exchanger (fluid goes to the radiator exchanger, to the aux cooler, and then back to the trans). If you search, note that IIRC AOD's have their lines backwards. Be sure to check yourself before installing the cooler.

It looks like you could dope mount the cooler in the driver fender area (below the horns) if you had to. You would have to rig up some gutter flashing, etc to direct air to and through the coil though.

My random thoughts. good luck.

mines mounted flat (paralell to the ground) next to the tranny bypassing the stock tranny cooler in the radiator..i had it mounted in place of the drivers side fog light but i was having one hell of a time running the lines so i half-assed it and havent fixed it yet, plus its going to get ripped off if i hit to big of a speed bump. but i have 0 problems with it there.
