Trans is shifting way too smooth. Why?

I took it out today to play with the new 4.10's. It was shifting really smooth under hard acceleration, it almost seemed like it was reving in between shifts. There was hardly any kick. I was getting some convertor shudder last year but thats seemed to of resolved. Can this be the convertor getting ready to go out? :(

By the way those 4.10's are crazy. On street tires I got rubber through first then when it went sideways half way through second. I had to get off before it got traction. Forget the 3.73's if you have an auto ragtop. Go for 4.10's!!! :p

You might be hitting the rev limiter right before it shifts. So it would be like your letting off the gas so it makes the shift softer. Did you do anything to the trans or computer after you had the gears installed?

Never thought about that. It hits nearly 6K before it shifts now. It used to shift closer to 5-5500. But gears alone shouldn't do that right? I also used a Jeep 23 tooth speedo gear but again that shouldn't have anything to do with it.

When you put gears in and you have an auto it might have some shifting problems. When you install gears your car will rev faster but the trans is going to shift to late. you have to fix it by getting a chip or something that changes the shift points of the trans.
