Trans makes wierd noises in 1-2 shift (96 Cobra)

Posting under my friends name. The 96 Cobra I just picked up makes a sorta "grinding" noise when you shift from 1-2 without pausing between gears for enough time. I hope this isnt anything TOO expensive or hard to fix, I didn't notice this when i first drove the car cause i was taking it REALLLLL slow. The car is still under a 30 day warentee from the dealer i bought it from, is this something that I should have them fix?

it's a common problem with the T-45 tranny's, i just live with it, adding a short throw shift can help it out a bit

if it's still under warranty get it fixed by them

1-2 synchronizers (blocker rings). He could always try to switch out to synthetic transmission fluid, but otherwise he’ll have to either replace them, or live with it.

Have the dealership fix it....could be your synchro's going IIRC

My 96 Cobra did that too, I changed the fluid to synthetic and put a tri-ax on it and probably decreased it by about 50 percent...
