whats the best trans oil, to get and which type(like what Dexron/ Mercon should i get) thanks

I use regular ATF in my one car and put 10w30 synthetic oil in my other trans w/o any probs both T5's.

Don't put anything but ATF in them. They're designed to be run with ATF.....use it. I personally run Redline D4, which is a synthetic ATF designed for manual transmissions that require ATF.

I am of the same mind as Mav - it seems people use different stuff just to be different. use what was meant to be run in them.

how much oil goes in and can i put it in through the shift after i drain the old old?

also make sure you remove the fill plug first (before draining). otherwise you can end up with an empty trans or not know exactly that you have it filled to the proper level (and wont be able to check the level in the future).
