Transfering marks from 99-00 Cam wheel to 01 + Bolt on wheels??

so I made my marks as you'll see below...but as I put these in the new heads and put on the chains I'm confused on how to scribe over the marks.... I don't want to assume so I figure I'll ask...

being my current cam wheel has no key way I can't use that to scribe the marks on to the new wheel....but on the old one there is a notch (see pic)...the new one has a circle near the teeth...if I line up my chains identically using that circle as the point of reference I should be good right? (same as the old mark) thanks guys

I'm sorry I'm asking a question...

So what heads are you putting on? 99-00 Windsor? or 01-04 Romeo Heads?

If you are putting on 01-04 heads you could use the romeo cam gear...

I'm not sure they are interchangeable...never thought about it I guess...

Why don't you keep your windsor press on gears on the heads/cams? Or do you have something else in mind for why you are replacing them?

because Jim at VT told me I needed these for my new head/cam combo

I took down my mods to put a different pic....(tired of a boring sig)

I'm in the process of patriot stge II heads...vt II cams....amongs other things

sorry for the wording I'll try again....

I made a mark on my chains that corresponds with the notch on my original wheel (the notch I'm referring to is located on the outer most portion of the sprocket between the two black sharpie marks)

My new sprocket doesn't have that notch but does have a Circle stamped on the outer portion of the sprocket.......My question is, if I line up the Mark on the chains with the circle on the new sprocket am I good to go? Is that how people do it when dropping in a new set of cams on a 99-00

you line the timing chain up with the dot on the cam gear. Your pressed on gears have a line, your bolt ons will have a dot. A way to double check your timing is to fold the timing chain in half and mark the two end links, then match the end links to the crank sprocket and to the cam sprocket.

Also, you will want to degree those cams and make sure they are installed on the correct centerline.
