Transgo Shift Kit Questions

I am considering getting a transgo kit installed in my low mileage, summer DD 89 GT. This car will remain stock or close to. Should i go with the shift kit or the reprogramming kit? And should a new stall be in the works as well? If so, how high?

Keep in mind this car sees easy miles with the occasional WOT run.
