Transmission/Clutch Problem????

My friend has a 91 4 cycl mustang and the transmission or clutch I think is messed up. This is the situation. You put the clutch in and the car starts up then you put it in gear and let the clutch out but the car goes nowhere. The engine doesnt stall or nothing. You are able to get it into any gear but when the clucth is released it goes nowhere. Does anyone know what is going on or have any suggestions. The car I believe has over 150000 KM. Any help is appreciated.

I can only think of one thing and that is the clutch is severely slipping. Time for a new disk.

Does it leak any oil or tranny fluid? Could be a seal leaked and has oiled the disk. But that would not really be an instant thing, you would know something was up before it won't move at all.

Same thing happened to me. Clutch plate or pressure plate is gone, in my case it was the clutch. Sure, you can still get it into gear, no problem, because the clutch is never engaged (out). But it's not going to go anywhere of course. Sounds like it's time for your friend to get his hands dirty and drop his tranny and replace some parts.
