Hey, I have been talking to some people about my 2003 Automatic Mustang GT. I am working towards a Kenne Bell 1.7L kit but I want to make sure I have my stang ready for it before I do it. I have heard that Transmission coolers are good for transmission shifts and longevity. Is this true and would you reccomend these? Does anyone know some brands that are good? Also, I think that these are mounted in the same place as the intercooler for kenne bells, where else could I mount this if I got one? THANKS

i dont think they are really necessarry, but if your running higher line pressure, 4.10s, high stall tourque converter etc then it might be nice. either way it wont hurt and they arent real expensive i dont think.

They are absolutely recommended even on stock Mustangs. I strongly reccomend installing one, they are cheap insurance. The website www.tccoa.com is a great resource for the 4r70w transmission (and the AOD and AODE as well).

with a tune you can firm up shifts and increase line pressure, the coolers are inxpensive and all seem to be good, and I would reccommend it, mine was mounted in th upper right hand corner as viewed looking at the grill, with the top lining up with the horse. I'd say it is maybe 10" x 10" and the 1.7 kb intercooler runs along the bottom 5 or 6" or the radiator at the front

Yes.. definately get one regardless of what direction you take the car.

That should be the first mod to any automatic vehicle along with window tint.
