Anyone have one of these vibration dampers off of a V8 car that they want to part with? This is bolted to the tailhousing on a C4 automatic trans. If so, how much do you want for it?

I've not seen one of those since the 80s! I'll guess that your best bet would probably be Phil Schmidt. I don't have any of his contact info anymore, but maybe someone here does and can share.

I managed to pick up an NOS damper for $60 plus shipping. Ford part# C9AZ-4A263-A. I had removed the original many years ago and before the last tear down I was noticing a resonant vibration around 50-60 mph. Hopefully this helps, certainly can't hurt and no doubt that Ford put them on for a good reason. Not hard to make one from stacked 1/4" x 1" flat bars, but you need the dimensions and weight to get it right. If anyone needs dimensions, let me know.

It wouldn't hurt to take the weights and measurements from it and share in case anyone else looks for one.

Shipping weight was 9 lb. I'll add the actual weight later, but here are the dimensions. The individual stacked bars are 1/4" thick x 1" wide.
